Augusto Silla Fabbri

Agusto Silla Fabbri was born in 1905. He was a skilled worker and an active member of the clandestine anti-fascist movement. On March 1, 1944 he took part in the workers revolt which involved all of occupied Italy but was particularly strong in Milan. He organized an eight day strike which brought the factory, where he was employed, to a complete standstill. He was captured and deported as a political prisoner. He was sent to: Mauthausen, Gusen, Florisdorf, Auschwitz, back to Mauthausen and on to Gusen again. He died from the abuses he suffered during the war. His death came five days after the liberation of Mauthausen.
