Tras una adolescencia agitada por el desplazamiento de toda la familia a Viena durante la Primera Guerra Mundial y una estancia en Palestina, se encuentra en Florencia con su hermano Mordekhai, que ense\u00f1a en el Colegio Rabinico.<\/p>\n<p>En Italia encuentra trabajo gracias a un jud\u00edo polaco, Leo Samuel Olschki, propietario de la Tipografia Giuntina de la que Vogelmann es nombrado director en 1928. Se casa con Anna Disegni, la hija de Dario Disegni, que por aquel entonces era el jefe de los rabinos de Tur\u00edn, y tienen a su primera hija, Sissel. Cuando en 1938 promulgan la leyes racistas, Anna tiene que dejar de ense\u00f1ar y la peque\u00f1a Sissel ya no puede ir al colegio. A partir del 8 de diciembre de 1943 intentan encontrar un refugio en Suiza pero les encuentran y les detienen el 20 de diciembre de 1943.<\/p>\n<p>Llegan a San Vittore y salen de ah\u00ed el 30 de enero de 1944, para ser deportados desde la Estaci\u00f3n Central de Mil\u00e1n en direcci\u00f3n a Auschwitz. En cuanto llegan a su destino, separan a Schulim de Anna y Sissel, a las que matan inmediatamente.<\/p>\n<p>El hombre sobrevive gracias a su trabajo como tip\u00f3grafo y vuelve a Florencia para dedicarse totalmente a la Tipografia Giuntina. Conoce a Albana Mondolfi, quien sobrevivi\u00f3 a la guerra y a la muerte del marido: se enamora de ella y se casan.
