El carro transportador y el ascensor monta-vagones hac\u00edan parte de aquellas tecnolog\u00edas innovadoras de la Estaci\u00f3n Central de Mil\u00e1n. Los vagones se cargaban y se sub\u00edan uno por uno a la superficie, en un \u00e1rea de maniobra ubicada entre el and\u00e9n 18 y el 19, poco m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la c\u00fapula de la estaci\u00f3n que cubre a los pasajeros. All\u00ed era donde se compon\u00edan los convoyes. Las operaciones de deportaci\u00f3n se efectuaron entre diciembre de 1943 y enero de 1945 y estaba dise\u00f1ada en modo que no interfer\u00eda con la actividad ordinaria de estiba de mercanc\u00edas.<\/p>\n<p>El sistema de la deportaci\u00f3n era un sistema complejo que requer\u00eda de la necesaria colaboraci\u00f3n de los empleados de la estaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Las placas<\/strong>. En el and\u00e9n hay veinte placas y cada una de ellas corresponde a uno de los trenes que salieron de la Estaci\u00f3n Central de Mil\u00e1n entre el 6 de diciembre de 1943 y el 15 de enero de 1945. De estos veinte trenes, doce deportaron solo a judios, cinco a opositores pol\u00edticos y tres se marcharon con un cargamento mixto de deportados. Las placas identificativas han sido dispuestas en tres niveles para recordar esta distribuci\u00f3n, y cada una de ellas indica la fecha de salida y la estaci\u00f3n de destino del tren al que se refiere. Desde Italia salieron prisioneros judios, prisioneros pol\u00edticos y los I.M.I. (soldados y oficiales del ej\u00e9rcito italiano que se negaron a afiliarse a la Rep\u00fablica Social Italiana a partir del 8 de septiembre de 1943 y que por lo tanto vivieron la dram\u00e1tica condici\u00f3n de los internados militares).<\/p>\n<p>La mayor\u00eda de las placas lleva escrita una estaci\u00f3n de destino italiana para recordarnos que en el territorio nacional existieron campos de transito. Los destinos italianos de los trenes que salieron de aqu\u00ed son tres: Verona, Bolzano y Fossoli (por donde pas\u00f3 Primo Levi antes de ir a Auschwitz). En las primeras dos ciudades se construyeron peque\u00f1os campos de selecci\u00f3n que se conectan f\u00e1cilmente con el resto de Europa a trav\u00e9s del Brennero, mientras que el campo de concentraci\u00f3n de Fossoli constituy\u00f3 un centro de estacionamiento para los deportados que, pocos d\u00edas despu\u00e9s, ser\u00edan llevados a sus campos de destino definitivos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El mecanismo de la deportaci\u00f3n.
